Climate control for UAE buildings, since 1995

Climatech supplies, installs and services air treatment and water heating equipment across Dubai and the wider UAE. The work covers three connected areas: controlling humidity, controlling air movement at openings, and heating water efficiently. Most buildings we work on need at least two of the three.

Humidity control

The UAE presents both humidity problems at once, often in the same building. Outdoor air carries a heavy moisture load that condenses the moment it reaches a cooled surface, while the conditioned air inside can end up drier than the processes and materials in the space actually need.

For excess moisture we supply industrial dehumidifiers in portable, ceiling mounted and ducted formats for pool halls, warehouses, basements, plant rooms, cold storage and construction drying.

For air that is too dry we supply industrial humidifiers, used where humidity affects a process or a product: printing and paper, textiles, electronics assembly, pharmaceutical production, food and storage.

Air movement and entrance control

Doorways are where conditioned buildings lose most of their energy. An air curtain holds a controlled stream of air across an opening so cooled air stays in and hot, humid, dusty air stays out, without closing the entrance. Correctly specified they also form an effective barrier to flying insects, which matters in food service and retail.

For terraces, courtyards, entrances and other semi-open areas, misting systems provide evaporative cooling in spaces that cannot practically be air conditioned.

Water heating

Water heating is one of the largest electrical loads in most UAE buildings, and it is usually the easiest one to reduce.

Solar water heaters have the lowest running cost where there is usable unshaded roof area and steady daily demand. Heat pump water heaters are the better answer where roof space is limited, and they perform particularly well in this climate because efficiency rises with ambient temperature. Electric hot water storage tanks remain the simplest option for low or intermittent demand.

For process heat and larger commercial and industrial duties we supply steam, hot water and thermal oil boilers, along with water storage tanks.

Supply, installation and servicing

We are not only a supplier. Climatech installs the equipment it sells and services equipment already in place, including systems we did not originally supply where we are able to.

Servicing matters more in this region than the equipment literature usually suggests. Dust fouls coils and collectors continuously. Hard water scales tanks, elements and pipework. Both problems reduce performance gradually rather than causing an outright failure, so systems commonly run for years at a fraction of their rated output with nobody aware. A serviced system holds its performance; an unserviced one quietly stops earning its keep.

Why the UAE changes the specification

Most equipment guidance is written for temperate climates, and applying it directly here produces predictable disappointments.

Air curtains are specified heated in Europe; here the sensible default is ambient, because adding heat works against what the building is trying to do. Heat pumps are derated for cold winters in northern markets; here they operate near the top of their efficiency band almost year round. Ultrasonic humidifiers run happily on mains water in soft water regions; here, untreated, they will distribute mineral dust across the space. Solar collectors need dust management that simply is not a consideration in wetter climates.

Getting these details right at specification stage costs nothing. Getting them wrong is expensive and usually only becomes obvious months later.
